Gardens of the Arts and Crafts Movement

gardensoftheartsandcrafts1.jpgNoted expert on landscape design, Judith B. Tankard describes the influence of the Arts and Crafts Movement on the gardens of noted British architects William Morris, Charles Mackintosh, and Ernest Barnsley, among others, in this richly illustrated text.  Period photographs, plans, and other ephemera provide fascinating context.  While the text is denser than a casual reader will desire, it is nonetheless a worthwhile addition to the literature on the Arts and Crafts Movement.  The book is currently on display with the recent acquisitions in the center of the reading room.  SB454.3 .A76 T36 2004
