Kokoon Arts Club membership application for William J. Eastman

The museum archives is now home to a small collection of membership applications for Cleveland’s most notorious arts club that embraced individual creativity in a bohemian rhapsody of color and expression. The Kokoon Club of Cleveland was in full swing during the first half of the 20th century, shaking the city out of its Midwestern doldrums with exhibitions of modernist art and scandalous rollicking orgies of flamboyant expression known as the Bal Masque. Membership in the club was exclusive and limited. The digitized collection is located on the library’s Internet Archive page.
