Ingalls Library Services

Ask a Librarian:
"Ask a Librarian" is a free service by the museum's library staff providing answers to questions about the world of art, including museum history and general information. Ask a question.

Personalized Member Services:
The reference staff offer CMA members one hour of personalized reference service focused on researching an object of your choice (either from the CMA collection or a personally-owned object). This free member benefit is limited to one session per year, per household. Please contact Matthew Gengler, Instuction and Outreach Librarian, to schedule an appointment.

Digital Camera:
To assist all, a digital camera is available attached to a copystand and located in the digital camera room of the library. An easy to use 3.2MP Sony digital camera uses 210MB mini CD-R discs, which are available at the circulation desk for $1.00. A disc will hold approx 81 JPG images. Scanners are not allowed. Instructions for use of the camera

Image Services:
To request scanning of images for CMA staff and CWRU Joint program faculty, please print the Request for Digital Imaging form [pdf] and drop off the completed form and item(s) for digitization in the Image Services department. Request for Digital Imaging forms are also available in the Image Services department.

It takes 2-4 weeks to process a Request for Digital Imaging form [pdf] depending upon the existing Image Services department work load. We will return all materials with individual image files, and a PowerPoint presentation.

Digital images of objects in the CMA collection may be purchased for $5.00 each or 20 for $80 by emailing the Image services staff or by calling 216.707.2547. Orders must be pre-paid and may take up to a month to process.
