Welcome to the Ingalls Library & Museum Archives!
The Ingalls Library contains a vast hidden collection of personal bookplates, uncataloged and unknown. These ex libris reside in the books in the library stacks, evidence of the remarkable provenance of the collection, waiting to be discovered by the curious patron.
Edd Alvah Ruggles (1880-1940), seen in the image below, worked for the Cleveland Museum of Art for 25 years, serving as museum photographer and master printer. Ruggles took many of the early photographs of the museum and its collections and was viewed as an expert in museum photography.
Spring is here and the Ingalls Library is spring cleaning. Spruce up your domicile with a deaccessioned plate. Sometimes serious, sometimes humorous, these plates are the perfect addition to any refrigerator or microwave. Many plates include matting.
