May Show Database

The May Show was a juried exhibition of local artists held from 1919 to 1993. This database contains May Show artist and object information published in the Cleveland Museum of Art Bulletin; and data compiled from archival May Show records. Entry categories were determined annually and changed over time. The list price refers to the price at which the object was offered for sale to the public during the exhibition. The archives has only a very limited number of images of award winning May Show objects which may be scanned upon request. Images of winning entries were also published in the Bulletin.
